Harlem Open House and Architecture Tour
The 24th annual Mt. Morris House and Architecture Tour takes place on Sunday, June 9, 2013. This years’ tour theme is Details: Architectural. Artistic. Authentic.
From 11am-4pm you can take the self-guided tour where you will see featured homes, churches and even a funeral parlor that has spectacular Tiffany glasswork. From upgraded contemporary homes to historically restored original staircases and parquet floors, this House Tour has it all! $35 at door ($25 in advance)
Additional tours of the day include: Architectural Walking Tour with Neal Shoemaker of Harlem Heritage Tours, Marcus Garvey Park Fire Watchtower Walking Tour and Inside & Intimate in Historic Harlem with Yale-trained architect and historian, John Reddick.

Queen of Angels Art Fair
Our very own photographer, Hans Von Rittern is showcasing his work at TWO upcoming art shows in Queens.
This Sunday, June 9, 2013, he will be featured along with 50 other artists at the “Queen of Angels Art Fair”, where you can purchase one of a kind pieces, in Sunnyside Queens. Hans’ work is gorgeous, and is not to be missed! (just look at the picture to your left). 1pm-5pm
Following the Art Fair, the ongoing “Invincible Summer” exhibit will be held June 11-July 9, 2013 at the Claret Wine Bar in Sunnyside.

Red Hook Jazz Fest
The sixth annual Red Hook Jazz Fest will take place on two consecutive Sundays, June 9th and June 16th, and will feature over 10 amazing jazz bands. Featured artists include: Fay Victor Ensemble, The Nowtet Plays Zeppelin, Lark, Bad Touch and many more! 1pm-6pm

Summer of Fitness on the Hudson is back bigger and better than ever and it’s all *FREE*! This year, you can work out on the rivers edge three nights of the week:
On Tuesday nights at Pier on Pier 25 in Tribeca, Lolë and FITiST are partnering to bring you classes focused on movement and well-being.
On Wednesday nights at Pier 64 in Chelsea, Shape Up NYC is bringing you Pilates and Nia, a sensory-based movement practice that draws from martial arts, dance and yoga.
On Thursdays starting July 11 – Shape Up NYC will bring the same classes that are taught at Pier 64 to Pier 46 in Greenwich Village.
Classes are limited to the first 75 people, first come-first served.

Put On Your Calendar: Summer Talk-The Bling Ring with Sofia Coppola
The Summer Talk series continues at the Film Society at Lincoln Center on June 10th, with Oscar winning filmmaker Sofia Coppola discussing her latest movie “The Bling Ring”. *FREE*
Based on a true story that took place in 2008-2009, The Bling Ring tells of a group of teenagers obsessed with celebrities and fashion, and how they tracked their victims online in order to break into their homes and steal their possessions.
Be warned….The Summer Talk Series is VERY POPULAR, and people line up at least an hour early to get in.
Brooklyn Pride Week
Brooklyn Pride Week culminates on June 8, 2013 with a full day of events:

Harlem River Festival and Row New York Regatta
New York Restoration Project hosts this *FREE* festival day of fun on the Harlem River!
Enjoy Swindler Cove’s restored wetlands, live entertainment, nature hikes, walk-up kayaking, fishing, arts & crafts, fishing, children’s garden and more!
Regional rowing clubs will thrill spectators as they whiz by in Olympic size racing shells along the Harlem River in the New York Regatta. Additionally, Row New York will provide learn-to-row lessons for children and adults.
June 8, 2013. Boat Races are from 7:30am-11am and 3pm-4:30pm. The Festival is from 11am-3pm.
The entrance is located on the Bike Path at Sherman Creek Park (intersection of Harlem River Drive, Dyckman Street and 10th Avenue).
A or 1 train to the Dyckman Street stop. Walk southeast on Dyckman Street towards the Harlem River. The entrance to the bike path is just in front of Public School 5.
