SUMMER STREETS NYC 2017 DETAILS
On August 5, 12 and 19, 2017 between 7am and 1pm, nearly 7 miles of roadway beginning at Park Ave and 72nd St down to Lafayette at the mouth of the Brooklyn Bridge, will be open and free of cars so that you can walk, ride, roller blade and enjoy a traffic free NYC!
This popular event attracts more than 300,000 participants each year and is really an NYC experience like no other.
Did you know?? Summer Streets is modeled on international festivals such as Ciclovía in Bogotá, Colombia and the Paris Plage in France and has inspired similar events in CicloRecreo Via and London’s Regent Street Summer Streets.
Six rest stops will be set up along the way with great activities including: LG Quadwash Water Park at Central Park, Adventure Zone and Bike Rental at the Uptown Stop, Health and Fitness Zone & Taste of Summer Sampling at the Midtown Rest, Citi Presents Food Sessions by Daily tous les jours and Nico Fonseca with guest chef John Mooney (registration necessary), Fitness Stage and Citi Kids Bike Park at Soho Rest Stop and Vita Coco Beach and Beachside Slide at Foley Square.
